Where Thoughts Come From – A Poem By Kelly D. Tolman
Posted by admin on October 3, 2008
Time has only one power I know,
Lost amid a myriad of others,
But still clean and pure.
A force that pulls
And defies understanding,
Except by those whose sacrifice
Pushes up from the soul.
An energy that seeps sluggishly
From thickening cracks
In the mind’s fickle shield.
This is the power I would know,
Not the force I have.
The energy I can not grasp,
Though somehow I would.
All I have are wishes,
Dreams of lost . . .
Hopes, plays, times . . .
But,
For now,
Plain ambitions
Are enough.
