Liberal Movement – A Poem by Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 27, 2010

Rising and falling, the mazy motions
meander and oscillate between waves of
expectation and some crazy notion.

Called to a dirty impossible task.
I ponder my predicament; to follow
or fulfill, what can fail, or what can last.

Now, with my mind made up, variation
as my constant, I begin my descent,
to absolute annihilation.

But rescuing me on a twisted thought,
comes a pang of desperation to know
if I am doing what is right, or not.

Now I stand against the violation
of my ability and innate right
to refuse choice of my own volition.

Lord Without Doom – A Poem by Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 21, 2010

Doves in the rain.
Blue and glistening,
They wait.

Rising and falling,
Lords of their doom,
Calling.

Silent flash of dark,
Deep and glittering,
Stars fight.

Rising and falling,
Lords of all doom,
Calling.

Cries of vain hope,
White and raining,
Death bolts.

Pierced dove’s hart,
Faint and bleeding,
Buys debt.

Rising and falling,
Lord of the fallen,
Falling.

Great Lord of peace,
Pure and rising,
He sings.

Rising and fallng,
Lord without doom,
Calling.

Love and Death – A Poem By Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 17, 2010

Life as I see it has two possibilities,
Death and Love.
Either you live dead,
Or love for Eternity.

Others disagree,
But for me,
Its Love or Death.

Some say dreams,
Some money,
Some family,
Some nothing.

What is a dream that does not love?
What buys money that doesn’t die?
What is a family if not the epitome of love?
What is death if no the emptiness of nothing?

Eternity is a long time to die.
Life is a long time to love.

For some its here and gone.
For others it just drags along.
For some it goes and stops.
For others it stops and stops.

But however this life moves about,
Whirling and swirling, or straight or short,
You may love all along or die,
As soon as you choose to quit or try.

Maddening Saddening Lonely – A Poem By Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 14, 2010

Why do I feel this black sadness
     knocking at my soul?
Is there an answer to this madness
     making my mind hole?

I’m lost and lonely,
with kind people all around me.
My voice is weak, so they don’t hear
my quiet cries of unseen fear.

                    Hope
                    drops
                    hard

to clatter noisily against the tile floor,
while they read white words of life evermore.

In my pool of despair frowns
ripple softly out and down
to touch those kind people
who refuse to touch me.

     They turn.
          I wait.

They turn away.

     Shouting,
     Banging,
     Screaming,
     Death knells.

My mind cries out against my loneliness.
Why do I feel this dark sadness,
Wracking my poor soul with madness,
When these kind people hold the key?

Mood Swing – A Poem By Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 12, 2010

The lazy, mazy motion
Oscillating their endless undulations,
Beneath the dark and waning moon

Produce some silly notions,
Made only by the dying aberrations,
That see and saw, crow and croon.

Rising slow as from the ocean,
Now rolling down the self-built, ego emanation,
Shifts backwards from hue to hue.

Silly, silly, silly emotions,
At six it soars, seven falls, eight elation,
Flying high we’re crashed by noon.

We find no magic potion,
To save poor waiting souls of dying patience
Lost forever in their swoon.

Now Or Forever – A Poem by Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 10, 2010

A kiss.  The wish to be near.
Heard from afar it calls you.
A glow, a warmth, the fire clear
Sweeps like steaming mountain dew.

A flower glowing, this kiss so small.
Buds impatiently, uncontrolled,
Now bursts forth a tree so tall.
Whose fruit brings bitterness untold.

Coals.  The wish to hide far away.
Heard in your heart, the voice so soft.
The flame that ravished yesterday
Now ashes upon your soul are tossed.

The seeds alone taught you the pain
The flower could bring so swift
The greenery that could have been,
Precious fruit so sweet, ony if…

Pebbles – A Poem By Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 7, 2010

Pebbles get stuck
in the thick layers
of our brains, and chant
the songs that hunters
hum.  They stroll
listlessly through the muck
we find in the cant
of hurried bird calls.

Separate image
from image
from form or sense;
the new mirage
flows out like marbles
from the broken bells
of children singing
with the birds.

Each bird
and child
hunter
or brave
soul-less
picture
becomes
another
rolling
pebble.

Pen and Paper – A Poem by Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 5, 2010

I stand and ponder the endless reams.
     Like ocean crests happy white,
They carry on the script’s light.
My thoughts they transfer to hapless dreams.

Then ink in dry blue waves washes in.
     An idea is formed, fulfilled,
As print on paper is spilled.
O’er my mind the story starts to spin.

Now crashing home ink, sheet, and poet.
     Always spring up, spin about,
Fly and are at last cast out.
Rhythm slows, stills, finds a dying note.

The Breath of Happiness – A Poem By Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on May 3, 2010

Softly chants the dew
Of new coming joy.
When lovers renew
Their vows to adore.

When children can play
In their gentle homes.
Parents stop their fray
Their offspring to adore.

When bills are all paid
And pleasure not sought.
Not cars, homes or, games,
But true treasures adored.

Then blows happiness’
Soft breath through our homes.
This eternal bliss
The heavens adore.

Where I Found You – A Poem By Kelly D. Tolman

Posted by admin on April 30, 2010

A beam of light,

patterned like gold,
flew down from the sun.
The beam touches you.
You are so very cold.

Water’s fingers
made you so.  Some hand,
angry and ambitious, rose
up and hurt lingers.

You were as bright
as goldenrod.
Before grass and earth
closed ’round you tight.

What must have been,
Now may never be.
Flowers and apologies
help nothing, but seem

to make deep wounds
grow salty.  With strength
We must all do our best
to make something new.
