Golden Summer afternoon
to come and stay beside
you now.
To think, not sing, though there’s a song
in my heart.
Quiet, graceful, then
Bursting out in playful games.
The thought of a friendship that
perhaps
could never be.  If only you didn’t
talk
back with me.
