I see perfection everyday
Dancing across your lips,
Swaying as you walk in your hips,
In your breath as you lay.
I hear perfection when you speak
And in the notes you sing.
Gentle names you call and linger
When you talk soft and weak.
I feel perfection in your touch,
Your hands or feet or hair,
Your breathing when you are near
Surrounds me like flowers.

Only shadows have lost their way.

Live and serve,
Love and give.
This is what He taught us.
That pain and hate,
Spite and hurt
Have grief and sorrow brought us.
Work until the work is done,
Love until love alone goes on,
Suffer for His suffering,
Try, do impossible things.
Then when its done,
Through and through.
Hope will come, the strife will end.
The new age begin,
Millennial hope come,
When born up in the first resurrection.

But I prayed and you came back.
Again, I scratched my list of
things to do, your name gone.
A voice said no.
When I called you didn’t
want to talk to me.
My mind said fine, I’ll go.
It felt good to be free of
you, but the voice says
No.

I sit here and think of you,
think of memories I want to make.
Do you understand that I don’t love just you?
The idea o flife, real life is so great.
I want to go away and be there, find truth,
Anywhere, and live.
There could be glory in the future for us.
Your greatness will make it so.
I can do anything, everything, rise up,
fly even, love and grow, remembering.

Do you want me to write a verse for you?
To name your beauty or our love so rare?
Why talk of lips and face so tender true,
Or speak of feature’s clear and sharp to stare
Into love’s eyes with words not fair enough
To tell the thought hidden deep in my heart
Not that you’re not beautiful, but too rough
Am I, and not moved to the poet’s art.
Dull darkness moves me to speak of you now
To express my love if that love it is.
No phase, gentle or kind will tell you how
Poetics like this do us not justice.
Day, night, all time passes wond’ring of thee
The perfect hopes, the nights, the days to be.

to come and stay beside

To think, not sing, though there’s a song
